Thrifty Thursday-Bleach Alternative

On our journey toward a more independent lifestyle,
we have been working on making our own cleaning products.

The laundry soap we use has been working great.
Due to Lil' Guy's history with allergies,
natural cleansers are preferred,
but it makes sense for anyone who cares about
their health and the environment.
We stopped using bleach a while back.
This recipe was recently found,
so we gave it a go.
It's so easy to find alternatives to toxic cleaners.

Bogus Bleach

1 1/2 C hydrogen peroxide
1/2 C white vinegar
water to fill gallon jug
(we reused a vinegar bottle)
10 drops essential oil

  2. I'm fascinated. How does it work? I'm kind of a fan of the bleach, but we stopped using it, too, in favor of other more natural alternatives. This could be a good solution.

  5. Great idea! I use all natural homemade cleaners, but I do still keep bleach around. I think I feel like I need it in the house in case of emergencies, but this is a great replacement recipe! Thanks!
