On our journey toward a more independent lifestyle,
we have been working on making our own cleaning products.
The laundry soap we use has been working great.
Due to Lil' Guy's history with allergies,
natural cleansers are preferred,
but it makes sense for anyone who cares about
their health and the environment.
We stopped using bleach a while back.
This recipe was recently found,
so we gave it a go.
It's so easy to find alternatives to toxic cleaners.
Bogus Bleach
1 1/2 C hydrogen peroxide
1/2 C white vinegar
water to fill gallon jug
(we reused a vinegar bottle)
10 drops essential oil
That is interesting.
ReplyDeleteHey Daisy, been wondering about an alternative--thanks for this! Hope you are well. FINALLY got some posts coming up on the garden--just have to get myself together! :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated. How does it work? I'm kind of a fan of the bleach, but we stopped using it, too, in favor of other more natural alternatives. This could be a good solution.
ReplyDeleteJane-Do you use a lot of alternatives?
ReplyDeleteKat-Hey, so good to hear from you! I look forward to reading all of your updates!
Kim-Give it a go and let me know what you think!
Do you use it in the same way and amounts as you would regular bleach?
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I use all natural homemade cleaners, but I do still keep bleach around. I think I feel like I need it in the house in case of emergencies, but this is a great replacement recipe! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteBecky-I just fill up the dispenser in the washer.
ReplyDeleteHeather-I hope you'll enjoy using this one!
I used vinegar in the rinse and peroxide in the bleach compartment, but I never thought of mixing them! NEATO. PLEASE, come link up at my new DIY linky party at www.littlehouseinthesuburbs.com!
ReplyDeleteDeanna Caswell-Hope you give it a go!
ReplyDeleteI use vinegar for all sorts of things. I'll give your recipe a try!
ReplyDeletemary_smith-Hope you enjoy it!
