It's been raining nearly every day
since we got back from vacation.
You won't hear one complaint from me!
Some of our garden didn't fair so well though.
These were the gi-normous sunflowers
on the side of the house.
I'm sure the heads were just too heavy with seeds
to withstand the driving rain and wind.
The rattleboxes are leaning
as if some big bully pushed them down.
I'm shoring up a few of them up
but hoping most will straighten themselves out.
Marigolds flattened!
Allyssum split right in two, but still green.
I found the most wonderful thing
when surveying the damage.
An oak seedling popping out of the ground.
Silver linings abound.
Nature is a powerful thing.
More rain in the forecast!
Yipppppeeeee!
Congrats on rain. I awoke to the sound this morning and am so anxious to check the rain gauge. We are SO short on rain its ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just hate it when the flowers "split" like that?
Everything looks so lush and green. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSue-Dontcha just love waking up to the sound of rain? Heaven!
ReplyDeleteJane-The rain is most welcome.
