Thankful to Be Home

Road trips are so much fun.
It's exciting starting out on a new venture,
never being entirely sure of what lies ahead.
We are so grateful for the time spent away,
in the company of a kindred spirit,
while renewing our vitality
and recommitting to simple living.

 Dorothy had it right,
"There's no place like home."

After being gone for a couple of weeks,
a new appreciation has developed
for the home we came back to.
As much as we are looking forward
to starting over in another state,
working toward a dream,
I realize that there was a plan in us being here, now.

One of the taglines I often use is
"I had to be there, to get here."
And although we've been blessed to take family vacations
the last few years,
it wasn't until this time around
that I feel that God's plan is coming together for us
in a way that is almost palpable.

We've encountered many obstacles
since moving to Central Florida,
but these snags are only put in place
to help us see the potential of our lives.

"Obstacles are those frightful things you see
when you take your eyes off your goal."
-Hannah More

Thankfully, we've made it through each one
and our lives improved considerably.
Embrace where you are,
it's all you've got.

It's good to be home.
