We have a friend who recently moved
to an assisted-living facility.
She is one of the dearest and most generous souls I know.
She casually mentioned in one of our conversations
that she never had envelopes when she needed them.
I thought she might enjoy some homemade stationary
to go with them.
Here's all you need to make someone a nice card or
some pretty paper for letter writing.
Yes, some folks still send letters the old-fashioned way!
This heart-n-home punch can be used on both
the top and bottom to frame the page.
This decorative sun was used in the four corners.
Mix-n-match until you find something pleasing.
There are so many different punch designs.
These were originally purchased for doing scrapbooking,
but I haven't done much of that lately.
It's great to find other purposes for things we already have.
Adding stamps and some envelopes completes the gift.
This craft took just minutes to create,
but it will give pleasure to a dear friend every time
she puts pen to paper.
If I were Martha, here's where I'd say,
"It's a good thing."
I think this is such a sweet thing for you to do. Back in college I worked at an assisted care facility and our residents LOVED making, sending and receiving homeade cards and stationary. What a wonderful thought.
ReplyDeleteHi Daisy...It definitely is a "good thing" in so many ways. I'll bet your friend will be delighted with the pretty stationary and appreciative of the thought and time it took to create a unique and thoughtful gift for her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful and thoughtful gift. I am sure she will love it.
ReplyDeleteRachel-It's such a little thing, really.
ReplyDeleteSusan-It's nice to do something for such a generous spirit.
Jane-We'll probably be getting a call very soon...
This is such a generous, wonderful thing to do for someone! Daisy? you are truly one of a kind!
ReplyDeleteI think I forgot how much I like to receive letters and isn't it amazing that we are in awe of something that used to be so common? Thank you for the ispiration!
Its so great that you were able to give her a gift that will keep on giving :) So thoughtful of you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gesture! I love the idea.
ReplyDeleteLisa-Yeah, people are pretty surprised when I tell them that we actually send snail mail thank-you notes for gifts received.
ReplyDeleteKaty-I'm sure she'll be able to make good use of it.
Sue-It really took no time at all!
