Don't sunflowers just make you
smile?
They look so happy with their bright, bold colors and plump, seed-packed centers.
The bees love 'em as much as I do.
This year I've grown varieties other than just the mammoth type I usually have going.
Summer just wouldn't be the same without 'em!
The red one looks very pretty... do you know the name of that type of sunflower? I could plant that in my preschool next year.
ReplyDeleteIt's called "Evening Sun" (Helianthus annus). They get up to 6 feet tall! Sunflowers are a great project for preschoolers.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Tithonia...Mexican sunflower...different than the regular sunflower...but I love them.
ReplyDeleteSiestaSister-I'll have to try those. I've already started my sunflowers for this year. Thanks!
