It's a Lego Christmas

With our Legoland passes expiring at the end of the year,
we thought we'd get in one more visit.
It was a gloomy day,
so the park wasn't busy
and we had plenty of time to enjoy the sights.

It's lookin' mighty festive!

Hmmm...wonder if Lil' Guy could make us
some of those candycanes?
(You can see some of his creations here.)

Miniland was even decked out for the holiday season!

A new exhibit is the greenhouse.
You know I had to check that out!

Howdy, farmer!

In these silos are various seeds for kids to identify.

They even had real strawberries growing.

This was a welcome sign.
It's good to know that the park is making a concerted effort
to source locally grown food.

After the rides and games,
I headed off to the garden.
When this was Cypress Gardens,
people came from all over the world
to see the tropical displays.
They have retained part of the old gardens, thankfully.

The contrast in plant materials was stunning.

These bamboo timbers were a sight.

The highlight for me was this tremendous banyan tree.
It looks like something out of a science fiction movie.
Amazing!

If you ever get a chance to visit Legoland,
make sure to stop by the garden area.
It's worth the trip alone.
Tell 'em daisy sent you!

  2. How neat! I love the Lego rooster. I can't even imagine how many hours they put into making all of the displays!
