Simplify Your Life by Elaine St. James

Simplify Your Life: 100 Ways to Slow Down and Enjoy the Things That Really Matter

"The more complex life becomes, the more people crave simplicity.  Whether it's in your work, relationships, health, finances, or leisure time, America's simplicity expert Elaine St. James can help you learn to unwind and improve the quality of your life.  If you're feeling overpowered, overextended, and overwhelmed, Simplify Your Life is the antidote, providing one hundred proven, practical steps for creating a simple and satisfying way of life."

This book was devoured in two sittings.  The introduction states, "Wise men and women in every major culture throughout history have found that the secret to happiness is not in getting more but in wanting less."  That about sums up for me what I'm working on right now.  It seems that our society tends to promote folks climbing up the corporate ladder so that they can attain the American Dream.  To my way of thinking, people need to follow what matters to them, and the rest will fall into place.  It's not a commonplace frame of mind, but it works so well.  If you are searching for a way to make your life a bit simpler, give this read a try.

  1. Hi Daisy,
I probably need to read this as I tend to add more responsibility to my life all the time no matter how hard I try not to ... I do it to myself. Thanks for leading the way on this ~ ~ I think you're definitely getting it figured out.
