There is some hope that summer will be easin' on outta here early.
I'm just goin' by the comments I see on gardening blogs
from the folks who live further north.
It will be more than welcome!
Here's what's bloomin' in our neck of the woods.
Morning glories with black-eyed Susan vines
Lots of these sweet things fluttering about.
This must have been a bloom on the cotton plant.
Guess I missed it.
Here's where the cotton will emerge.
plumbego
cosmos
no rain, this is from the sprinklers this morning
flax lily
At first this looked like a colored leaf.
sweet potato vine and rosemary
lantana
daisy
zinnia
The Maple Hill mascot.
Goin' up???
Enjoy what shows up in your garden today!
I did not know Black Eyed Susan's had vines too?!! WAY cool!!!
ReplyDeleteDo you harvest your cotton too? My mom would love to do that but she has many times said she wanted llamas for their fur so she could dye it all and knit away.
Take care!
Dee
This is the first cotton plant we've had growing, so we'll see how it goes.
DeleteWhat a nice garden tour!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Garden Party.
Glad you took the time to stop by!
DeleteBeautiful flowers. You can keep the "hopper"--we have TONS of them right now-the wild turkeys are having so much fun with them.
ReplyDeleteThose turkeys are eating well!
DeleteBeautiful photos. I love the combination of the blue morning glory and the black eyed Susan vine. Lovely contrast. And I really like the almost mauve zinnia...a rather different color for zinnias. Hoping that you gave a great week.
ReplyDeleteYael from Home Garden Diggers
I like purple and yellow too. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteLove the BESV with the Morning Glory. Squash that mascot, the babies will eat your garden down to nothing..
ReplyDeleteSo far they have only been seen eating the plumbego. It could use some trimming. I can't squash 'em!
DeleteBeautiful shots of your flowers, Daisy. I so love morning glory--yours are wonderful. Also your grasshopper--wow-what a stunner he is!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Morning glories are a sight to start one's day off right.
DeleteLove all the purples and oranges! So neat that you are growing cotton!
ReplyDeleteIt's the first cotton plant we've tried. Now I need to figure out how to save the seeds!
DeleteLots of lovely things - I especially liked the plumbago!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth!
DeleteI had these amazing cotton plants that produced such beautiful flowers (and plenty of cotton)this year. I shared quite a few seeds and saved some for next year as well. This was definitely a great addition to my garden.
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are beautiful.
Happy Gardening ~

DeleteAmazing photos! The morning glory and susan vine look great together. Lovin' the critters, too! Jean
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean. We enjoy being part of your garden party!
DeleteEverything is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosanne!
DeleteI never heard of a black eyed susan vine. Too cool. Yuk - I don't like grasshoppers.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's pretty easy to grow. Have a great gardening day!
DeleteGreat photos! Thanks for following me...I'm following you now too :)
