The weather here in Central Florida
has been downright scary lately.
We've had storms that rattle the windows.
Thankfully, no damage has been done in our area,
and no one has been hurt.
Lightning strikes have been reported in the news a lot lately.
Florida is the lightning strike capital of the world.
We are so grateful for having shelter from the storms.
And I can't complain about what the rains
have done for the garden.
Here's hoping you're getting just the dose of rain you need
to help your garden grow.

ReplyDeleteI just read on the news that Florida is having a problem now with "flesh-eating" bacteria in the ocean waters. ???????
What on earth is going on anymore with our crazy crazy world.............

DeleteWow!!! Look at your native salvia. Just stunning. I am planting more and more natives. Most of these are just as beautiful as exotics and, here in California anyway, they don't need as much water.

DeleteOh my! We've had quite a few storms - flooding, lighting, etc. too but we've been so grateful we've survived it all without damage. Happy you have made it through as well!! Being the lightening strike capital of the world doesn't sound like fun. :)

DeleteI didn't know Florida was known for having lots of lightning. We are finally getting some gentle rain in SE Nebraska, I enjoyed your blooms and cats. It's fun when we share some plants, such as Beauty berry and salvias. Maybe the salvias are not native here, though. I should look that up. I am going to get off of the computer for a bit to make some soup now, though. :o) Thanks for your nice words on my last post.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that we are so far away from each other, yet share some similar plants. Two different climates, but they still do well. Your garden always fascinates me!
DeleteWe have a winter home in Central Florida (Winter Haven). Love the weather down there and like to get down whenever we can swing a long vacation. (Normally from Central PA). Hope to make it my retirement home eventually.
