Today we are shamelessly promoting our home for sale.
Since we'd tried to sell it twice before with two different realtors,
we thought we'd give it a go ourselves.
It seems to be a good time to sell and the market is picking up a bit here.
The worst that can happen is that we don't get enough traffic
and end up having to list it again with our realtor of choice.
Without a listing on the MLS, buyers aren't able to see all of the homes available.
We found a way to (hopefully) get more exposure for our home.

When researching safety considerations when selling yourself,
I stumbled upon a blog by Andrea Dekker,
who created a blog for her home
and put it on Craig's List.
Brilliant!
So, that's what I've been working on for the past couple of weeks.
I'm asking everyone I know to put a link up on their Facebook account,
or any other type of social media,
as well as listing it on Craig's List ourselves.
We trust that the right buyer will find it
and be quite content here.

Daisy,
ReplyDeleteListing it on Craig's List is a good idea. Also try FSBO.com (For Sale By Owner). I don't know about your area, but also try Realtor.com. And print ads (local and surrounding newspapers) are still a good choice. Hope these tips help you get to the country soon!
Lori
Thanks for the advice and good wishes, Lori. I was thinking Realtor.com is only for realtors. I hope so too!
DeleteWow--impressive, Daisy. Heck, I'd buy it (if it were in Nebraska---our maybe-next state)
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job. Lori Leigh has some excellent ideas for more ways to market it.
Good luck!!
I would think it would sell rather easily.
Thanks Sue. Florida is a different kinda place. It's feast or famine here with real estate. I hope you're right though!
DeleteHi Daisy, I wish you well in selling so you can fulfill your dream of a farm. I just shared on my Friday Features Pinterest board. Your kitchen looks awesome, I would love to see more of it.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about making a video "walk through" of the highlights of the home, Realtor's do that.
And I have shared to Twitter, which also sends it to Facebook.
I would add your post to Google+ and be sure to search out Hashtags to add with your post and link. You can search for them on the "Explore Tab". Try 11 Am for posting they say that is a good time of day.
Good luck and Happy Easter!!
Karren
Oh My Heartsie Girl
Thanks for sharing the link and the wonderful advice. Unfortunately, I don't know how to link up with a lot of that social media stuff. I'm not so tecno-savvy. Thanks for visiting and for your kind words. ;0D
DeleteShared! :) I sincerely hope your beautiful home sells soon!! Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend. From your lips to God's ears!
DeleteI'm going to shamelessly do the same thing in another year. There is a website I think it's called for sale by owner where you can also list it. We sold our second home this way. Be open to working with a Realtor who may be driving around with a client looking at homes, that's how we found our buyer in 30 days. Was awesome and we only had to pay 3% commission, they handled all the paperwork. Was a dream! Best of luck to you! -Carole
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice. We are listed on that sight at the moment, since it's free. I hope we have the same experience! I can't help but wonder if you're looking for more garden space? ;0D
