And I have no clue what soldier caterpillars look like (and what beautiful butterflies they are, I've never seen them before!) but the caterpillers definitely look like monarch caterpillars to me. You know, for a great science experiment you could bring one inside in a big jar or aquarium with holes in the lid, feed it the milkweed, and when it gets big enough it will pupate on the top to form a chrysalis hanging from the lid... several weeks later it will darken from a bright green until you can see the wings inside, and then it will hatch. beautiful :)<br />Katy (can you tell I'm a biology major?! hahahah)Farming Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17938675746905624146noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6205621545063667402.post-52765243719409308872011-07-11T09:20:16.780-04:002011-07-11T09:20:16.780-04:00Nature really is a wonderful thing.Nature really is a wonderful thing.Jane @ Hard Work Homesteadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02905658082120445313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6205621545063667402.post-75008923546030394472011-07-11T08:58:51.645-04:002011-07-11T08:58:51.645-04:00Beautiful photos Daisy!Beautiful photos Daisy!Tamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06597093453934852571noreply@blogger.com
