Near 100 yesterday and again today. Heat index was predicted to be 110 yesterday. I don't know if it made it there or not. No matter. Being from farming ancestors, if the job needed doing you did it. Many times during hay season the thermometer would top out and once it broke.

Yesterday I spent the day fence building. Four posts had to be dug out of the ground to use for the garden expansion. With about 90 pounds of concrete in the ground around the post, it was no small task. So dig a little, rest allot, and drink lots of water was the key to working in the hot humid weather. Fortunately this part of the garden is shaded after about 2pm and there was a nice breeze blowing. So I have one more fence panel to install on the south fence line and eight more to install along the back. I will get more fence work done today. My goal is to have the fence up and the garden secure when the sweet corn matures. The raccoons with a little help from the deer can devastate a corn patch in one weekend.

Have a great staying inside out of the heat and humidity day.
Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00571521947867768070noreply@blogger.com
